Algebra A Math: Solving Equations Using Radicals

This topic introduces the student to solving quadratic equations through the use of radicals. The student learns to solve quadratic equations using a method that is not factoring.

This series of two lessons teaches the student how to solve quadratic equations using radicals. The student learns the foundations of solving quadratic equations using radicals in order to allow them to solve quadratic equations by completing the square later.

Solving Quadratic Equations Using Radicals I

In this lesson, the student is introduced to basic quadratic equations that can be solved using radicals. The student learns how taking the square root of both sides of an equation can be used to solve for x. The student also learns that this method produces multiple solutions for x.

Solving Quadratic Equations Using Radicals II

This lesson shows the student more complex examples of quadratic equations that can be solved using radicals.
