Grade 1 Math: Comparing Numbers 0-10

Comparing Sets 0-10

In this lesson, students learn how to compare the size of groups of objects with up to ten objects to determine which group is larger. They enter the number of groups in the larger or smaller group as indicated in the question.

Comparing Numbers 0-10

In this lesson, larger and smaller numbers are defined. A number is larger than another number if it comes after the other number when counting. A number is less than another number if it comes before the other number when counting.

Other terms that mean the same thing are introduced. Other words for larger are greater and bigger. Other words for smaller are less than.

Students are given two numbers and they must write the number that is larger/bigger/greater than the other number or the number that is smaller/less than the other number.

1 or 2 More or Less 0-10

In this lesson, students learn to determine what number is 1 or 2 more or less than another given number, when the number given is less than 10.

Comparing Numbers and Symbols 0-10
